My best girlfriend and I have been friends for almost 30 years. We take at least one weekend trip to Tennessee each year to get away from husbands and family for a “Girls Only” weekend. We have stayed in Nashville, Memphis, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and Goodletville, Tennessee. We are always pleased with the beautiful scenery, the entertainment events, the historic attractions, the music, the food, the shopping, and most of all the friendly people.

We have… Read More

Vacations

Things To Do, Attractions, Shopping, Uncategorized

My wife and I have vacationed in Tennessee for the last 5 years now. We have enjoyed rides in the General Jackson paddleboat in Nashville. That was a “GREAT” adventure. Those people are the most courteous people there are. The food and entertainment is excellent.

Also we went to the Grand ‘Ol Opry. Again that was “GREAT.” The mall there had a very wide selection of shops and food courts to choose from also.

A Trip to Remember

Uncategorized

“Wow” is the word I would use to describe our trip to Nashville, Tn.
My husband and I had not seen our son and daughter-in-law in three years due to illness and finances, but my son’s company sent him to Nashville for a conference. We live in Illinois, so we were able to meet him and his wife in Nashville for a wonderful three days.

They are from California and they were amazed how… Read More

Our Tennessee Vacation

Things To Do, Attractions, Cullinary, History and Heritage, Uncategorized

Two summers ago my husband and I and our 12-year-old daughter took a road trip from Mt. Holly, NJ to Nashville and Memphis. It was August and of course, Elvis month! We had a fantastic time at Graceland. We also visited the Civil Rights Museum—what a moving experience!

In Nashville we stayed at Gaylord Opryland. Trees, plants, restaurants, a river, boats, music, dancing and lots of fun—all enclosed by glass! It was the best place… Read More

Waterfall Hunting

Uncategorized

One of my most memorable trips to Tennessee was one I made alone starting on Feburary 12, 2005. I was up and on the road before 5 a.m., headed from Russellville, Arkansas to the waterfall country of middle Tennessee to spend a week hiking and enjoying the beauty of this wonderful state. By 12:30 I was in Cookeville where I stopped for gas and a short rest, then decided I would head north and find… Read More

I was born and raised in Central Florida. It was so expensive to live there. I got pregnant with my first child at 17 years old. My mother stood by me, and the both of us decided it was time for a change. The town we lived in in Florida was no place to raise this child. So my mother, my little brother, myself, and 2 large dogs packed everything we could into our little… Read More

Thank God I’m A Country Boy

Things To Do, Nature and Outdoors, Uncategorized

Every year my family, some from Florida and some from Michigan, meet for a vacation somewhere close to halfway. A few years ago we rented a house in the Smokies. There are over 20 of us of “hillbilly” descent, and that many of us together makes for quite a scene! My aunt put together a Talent Night for us one of the days we were there… my Gramps was always a big John Denver fan,… Read More
