Things To Do, My Tennessee Weekend
There’s no doubt about it: You’ve got to find yourself in Memphis for the much- anticipated Memphis in May International Festival. The host of some of Memphis’ largest events, the festival features the toe-tapping Beale Street Music Festival, the finger-licking World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest and the relaxing Sunset Symphony. Some of Memphis’ major thoroughfares will be bustling with family fun, music and awesome food. So what are you waiting for? Join the rest of Memphis residents and out-of-towners for an unforgettable month of entertainment. The festival kicks off April 30.
Join us in Castalian Springs this weekend for the Third Annual Bledsoe’s Fort Colonial Fair. History buffs, get a load of this: The fair will take you back in time during the period between 1750-1790. We’re talking colonial music and entertainment signature to that time, demonstrating craftsmen, shooting matches and more. Got your interest piqued? Go check it out and see what it’s all about April 30-May 2.
There’s something for everyone at the 18th Annual Townsend Spring Festival & Old Timers Day. From the Wildflower Walk to the bluegrass music to the barbecue, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. So make plans to get out of the house and enjoy the antique cars, demonstrations and young pickers contest at the event held April 30-May 1.
